Team USA Hosts Player Combine & Camps, Choose Youth Player for International Friendly

BOISE, Idaho – The U.S. National Arena Soccer Team (USNAST) will host a player combine and camps for local youth soccer players leading up to the international friendly between Team USA and Team Mexico, presented by Delta Dental of Idaho, this Saturday at CenturyLink Arena.

At least one player from the player combine will be selected to play with Landon Donovan and Team USA later that evening with the potential to also make Team USA’s 2019 WMF World Cup Team in Australia this October.

“Our combines have proven to be a great way to identify new talent,” said USA Soccer567 General ManagerBernie Lilavois. “We took two combine players to the 2017 WMF World Cup in Tunisia, and we have three players from our March combine in Cincinnati participating in this Saturday’s game.”

The camps hosted at CenturyLink Arena begin at 8:30 a.m. with a combined boys and girls camp for ages 8-11, and the older group of players aged from 12-15 years old is set to start at 10:30 a.m. Additionally, the player combine is open only to players ages 16 and up and begins at 12:30 p.m. The Team USA coaching staff will be operating both the combine and camps as an opportunity to receive national team training as well as exposure for the USNAST pool of prospects.

Registration costs $75 per player and can be done online through www.Soccer567.com or by clicking here.

This is the third-straight year that international soccer comes to CenturyLink Arena, including the sold out friendly between Team USAvs. Team Brazil in August 2017 and last summer’s international friendly tournament featuring Team USA, Team Mexico, Team Columbia and Team Somalia.

The international friendly between Team USA and Team Mexico, presented by Delta Dental of Idaho, features some of the best indoor soccer talent in North America for a one-night event, including U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) and U.S. soccer superstar Landon Donovan, who will play for Team USA and is the all-time leader in assists for the USMNT while also sharing the all-time scoring lead with fellow superstar Clint Dempsey.

The game begins at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, and doors open at 6:00 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now and start as low as $15. For tickets and information, contact the CenturyLink Arena Box Office at 331-TIXS or visit centurylinkarenaboise.com.
