Boise, ID (3/18/14) – The Idaho Steelheads and CenturyLink Arena, with the support of CenturyLink, are happy to announce that the recently-completed “Hat Trick Reading Program” reached over 2,000 children in the Treasure Valley during the 2013-14 campaign.
The program encourages children to read by setting a series of goals for them that involve sitting down and cracking a book. If a child reached all three goals, he or she earned two vouchers to attend an Idaho Steelheads hockey game along with a Steelheads cap.
The main branch of the Boise Library and the Star branch of the Ada Community Libraries led the way in entry forms distributed while the Lake Hazel branch of the Ada Community Libraries was among the tops in vouchers redeemed and hats distributed, signifying children who completed the ‘Hat Trick.’
All children who enrolled were invited to the CenturyLink Free Skate Day at CenturyLink Arena in Boise on February 23.
The CenturyLink Hat Trick Reading Program is an annual program put on by the CenturyLink, the Idaho Steelheads and several local libraries.
CenturyLink Arena is located in the heart of downtown Boise. It is home to the Idaho Steelheads and the Idaho Stampede. Seating 5,000 people, CenturyLink Arena hosts many events every year.
