Fordyce out; Thometz in for co-main event

Boise, ID (5/8/15) – It was announced late Thursday (May 7th) evening that Chuck Fordyce would be unable to compete in the co-main event of Front Street Fights 5 – presented by Bodybuilding.com on May 15th at CenturyLink Arena against Darrell Flores.  However, Front Street Fights announced early Friday morning that Scott Thometz would be replacing Fordyce and will face Flores one week from tonight.

Thometz (5’7” | 155 lbs.) returns to the cage after more than a year off with a pro record of 6-wins and 4-losses.  This will be his first pro-MMA fight in Boise where he serves on the training staff at Combat Fitness/SBG Idaho.

“I’m feeling healthy and feeling in the right mindset and it just kind of fell into my lap.” said Thometz of his return to the cage and taking the fight on short notice. “I want to help out the local fight scene and didn’t want the card to suffer from having this fight fall off so I thought I would go out there and give the fans what they want. “

“He was one of my mentors, and I am honored to fight him” said Flores about his new opponent. “It says something about my career to be able to fight a man of this caliber.”

Front Street Fights 5 – presented by Bodybuilding.com will take place one week from tonight at CenturyLink Arena.
