Boise State, Idaho to renew rivalry at CenturyLink Arena

Boise, ID (9/17/13) – CenturyLink Arena, along with Boise State University and the University of Idaho, announced Tuesday that the men’s basketball game between the Broncos and Vandals will take place at CenturyLink Arena on November 27.

The two schools agreed to a two-year contract with CenturyLink Arena, meaning the two sides will meet on the same floor again next November, also on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
This will be the second straight year the two in-state rivals have played each other in downtown Boise and it will be the fourth NCAA college basketball game CenturyLink Arena has hosted in the past five seasons.  Each game has featured an all-Gem State matchup with an average attendance of 4,079 fans:
– 12/20/12:  Boise State 78, Idaho 68
– 11/23/11:  Idaho 80, Lewis-Clark State 75
– 12/29/09:  Idaho 71, Lewis-Clark State 52
For seating purposes, the arena will be split in half to accommodate each school’s alumni, booster and students.  Tickets will initially be sold through the schools before going on-sale to the general public on November 1.
CenturyLink Arena will also host in-state men’s basketball rivals on Friday, December 20, when the University of Idaho returns to Boise to take on Idaho State University.  Ticketing for that game will be handled in a similar manner with a general on-sale date of November 20.
CenturyLink Arena is located in the heart of downtown Boise.  It is home to the Idaho Steelheads and Idaho Stampede.  Seating 5,000 people, CenturyLink Arena hosts a large number of events each year.  More than 350,000 fans attended over 100 events in 2012.  For more event dates and tickets, visit www.centurylinkarenaboise.com or call 208-331-8497.
