Resurrection Fighting Alliance sets event in Boise

Boise, ID (5/22/2015) – CenturyLink Arena and Front Street Fights announced Friday that RFA 27 – a nationally-televised mixed martial arts event – will be held at CenturyLink Arena on Friday, July 3, with former Boise State wrestler Jesse Brock fighting in the Main Event.

Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) is the top development brand for UFC.  Its events are televised live on AXS TV (DirecTV channel 340, Dish Network channel 167).  The national broadcast will begin at 8 PM, featuring the professional fight card.  An amateur undercard will begin at 6 PM, leading up to the main card.  Tickets for the event are on sale through the CenturyLink Arena box office or by logging on to www.centurylinkarenaboise.com.

“We’re excited to help bring such a great event to the state of Idaho and showcase not only our arena, but also our fighters to a nationwide audience on July 3rd,” said Eric Trapp, the President of CenturyLink Arena. “The RFA brand is one of the best out there and CenturyLink Arena is proud to host this event.”

Brock (20-8) will fight Joe Murphy (8-2) of California in the night’s Main Event.  Brock has appeared in three Main Events at Front Street Fights, winning all three, to prepare him for this RFA bout.

In the evening’s Co-Main Event, Twin Falls’ Czar Sklavos (pronounced See-zurr) will face off with Utah’s Nick Burgos.  Sklavos appeared at Front Street Fights IV in February, picking up a submission victory in the evening’s Co-Main Event.

RFA is also providing a “feature fight,” showcasing heavyweights Jan Jorgensen (7-1) and Dale Sopi (6-1).  The remainder of the fight card for RFA 27 will be announced at a later date.
