Soccer Success at CenturyLink Arena

Idaho soccer fans were out in full force on August 11th for the first-ever indoor soccer game at CenturyLink Arena. A sellout crowd of 5,019 saw Team Brazil earn a 5-1 victory over the US National Arena Soccer Team in exhibition play as the two squads prepare for the World MiniFootball World Cup this October in Tunisia.

Fans in attendance also got to see a few of their own take the field, as Sandpoint native and US Team staple Brian Farber enjoyed a much-publicized return to Idaho. After the US National Team held tryouts on the morning of the game, Boise native Luke Broz was also selected to join the roster for the game against Brazil.

Victor France netted two goals for Team Brazil, while Stephen Basso scored the only goal for the Americans.

“I thought it was a great night of family-friendly entertainment, and we were happy to bring such a great event to downtown Boise,” said CenturyLink Arena General Manager Eric Trapp. “I think everyone had a great time and was really into it. We hope we can do it again soon!”
