U.S. National Team, Mexico Meet for International Arena Soccer Friendly in Boise on August 13

BOISE, Idaho – International Arena Soccer comes back with some of indoor soccer’s best players for a fifth year, and the U.S. National Arena Soccer Team (USNAST) will take on Team Mexico for an international friendly on Friday, Aug. 13 at 7:00 p.m. from Idaho Central Arena.

Tickets are on sale now with prices as low as $30. Tickets are available by clicking here.

“We are excited for the return of arena soccer once again at Idaho Central Arena,” said Eric Trapp, General Manager for Idaho Central Arena. “The Treasure Valley community has shown immense support for arena soccer over the last few years with sold-out international friendlies and the tournament four years ago, especially when both Team USA and Team Mexico are on display. We cannot wait to bring another fast-paced, competitive event back to Downtown Boise.”

This is the fifth summer in Boise for Team USA and International Arena Soccer since 2017. Team USA made their Treasure Valley debut on Aug. 11, 2017 for a sold-out international friendly against Team Brazil, and the following year, Idaho Central Arena hosted a four-team friendly tournament between teams from Columbia, Mexico, Somalia, and the U.S. Since then, Team USA and Mexico have met for international friendlies in 2019 and 2021.

The event will be the fourth international meeting between Team USA and Team Mexico at Idaho Central Arena. Team Mexico has won back-to-back friendlies over Team USA, winning 5-3 during their last meeting in 2021 as well as 5-2 in 2019 to take a 2-1 series lead in Boise. Team USA won their first meeting in Idaho, 3-2, over Team Mexico in the 2018 tournament championship game.

Rosters for the event will be announced at a later date.

Arena soccer is high-scoring and incorporates many elements familiar to hockey. The playing surface is surrounded by the boards and glass used during Steelheads games, players change on-the-fly and are limited to 5-on-5 with one goaltender, and some penalties will result in man-advantage situations.

Opening kick-off is at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, and doors open at 6:00 p.m. To book a luxury suite for your party, contact Nathan Jordan at 208-424-2200 ext. 2310. For group tickets, call 208-383-0080.
