Boise, ID (8/9/17)— The Co-Main Event is in place for Front Street Fights 13: Cortez vs Beebe, presented by Bodybuilding.com, as FSF veteran Michael “The Animal” Garcia prepares to face Billy Carothers inside the CenturyLink Arena cage on August 18th.
Garcia is appearing in his sixth FSF event, and third as a professional, while Carothers makes his first appearance in downtown Boise for the Catchweight (165lbs) fight.
Garcia (1-1-0) has taken each of his first two professional bouts at Front Street Fights, appearing at FSF11 and FSF12. The 5-foot-9 Idaho fighter earned a submission victory in the second round at FSF11 against David Rangel, but he was defeated with a leglock in Round 2 at FSF12 by Brandon Todd. The 23-year old also fought at Front Street Fights as an amateur, with victories at FSF4, FSF8, and FSF9. This will be Garcia’s third pro fight of 2017.
Carothers (3-8-0) steps into the cage for the first time since October, when he snapped a streak of four straight defeats with a big victory at “Gladiator Challenge: Warpath”. The 31 year-old California fighter defeated Chris Quitiquit with a second-round TKO. Two of his three pro victories have come by KO/TKO. The 6-foot fighter will be taking his second fight since November of 2013.
The fight is the fourth pro bout on the Front Street Fights 13 card. Luis “The Mexican Hulk” Cortez and Ben Beebe will square off in the Main Event, the first Heavyweight bout featured in the Main Event in Front Street Fights history. Abraham Campos and Elmar Umarov are scheduled to meet in a Lightweight contest, and Justin Milani and Emilio Trevino will square off in a Light heavyweight bout.
Doors for Front Street Fights 13 will open at 6pm, with the first fight scheduled for 7pm.
