Boise, ID (9/27/17)— The FSF Featherweight title belt will be on the line on November 10th at CenturyLink Arena when Matt “The Stripling Warrior” Jones steps inside the cage against Fabio “Jungle Boy” Serrao for the Main Event at Front Street Fights 14: Serrao vs. Jones, presented by Bodybuilding.com.
The Featherweight belt was vacated by prior champion Vince Morales, following his decision to drop down to the Bantamweight division. Jones prepares for his eighth professional appearance at Front Street Fights, while Serrao makes his FSF debut.
Jones (6-2-0) has won back-to-back fights, his last appearance a second-round knockout of Carson Frei with a much-publicized spinning elbow at FSF12. The 5-foot-10 Idaho native has won five of his seven fights at CentruyLink Arena, with his victory over Frei in May serving as the first knockout victory of his career. This will be the 25 year-old’s second attempt at an FSF title belt. He was defeated by Josh Tyler at FSF8 in a fight that denied him the featherweight title.
Serrao (7-5-0) makes his much-anticipated Front Street Fights debut. The 5-foot-9 Brazilian fighter out of Utah was scheduled to face Jesse Brock in the Main Event at FSF12 before an injury forced him out of the event. Now the 36 year-old fighter hopes to claim his second straight belt with a second straight win, having captured the featherweight title at “MMA Total Mayhem: Twenty Fifteen”. That first-round submission victory over Dalan Knight came on New Year’s Eve in 2014, his last MMA fight. This will be Serrao’s fifth pro title fight, having won two of the prior four.
Additions to the fight card, including the co-main event, will be announced in the coming days.. Doors for Front Street Fights 14 will open at 6pm, with the first fight scheduled for 7pm. The event will be broadcast live on Cable One Channel 72 and streamed on the Front Street Fights YouTube page.
