Boise, ID (7/13/17)— After a controversial meeting in May, JohnBoy McComas and Ben Hollier will square off again in the CenturyLink Arena cage in an amateur Bantamweight bout on August 18th at Front Street Fights 13: Cortez vs. Beebe, presented by Bodybuilding.com.
McComas defeated Hollier in an amateur fight at Front Street Fights 12, one that drew attention because of the spinning back-fist McComas delivered to Hollier in the opening moments when Hollier was reaching for a glove-tap. McComas would submit Hollier with a choke-hold 35 seconds into the first round.
McComas (3-2-0) has traded wins and defeats in his first four amateur fights, winning at FSF12 but losing at King of the Cage: Quick Draw in June. McComas suffered a TKO defeat at the hands of Taylor Rogers. The 21 year-old Idaho fighter is appearing in his third Front Street Fights event, also earning a win at FSF11 over Vincent Delefuente via first round knockout. All three of McComas’ wins have come in the first round.
Hollier (1-1-0) also prepares for his third appearance at Front Street Fights. The SBG Idaho fighter earned his lone amateur win at FSF10 in a unanimous decision over Delefuente. This will be Hollier’s first fight since his last meeting with McComas.
This is the third fight, and first amateur fight, to be announced for the Front Street Fights 13 fight card. Luis “The Mexican Hulk” Cortez and Ben Beebe will square off in the Main Event, the first Heavyweight bout featured in the Main Event in Front Street Fights history. Abraham Campos and Elmar Umarov are scheduled to meet in a Lightweight contest.
Additions to the fight card, including the co-main event, will be announced in the coming days. Doors for Front Street Fights 13 will open at 6pm, with the first fight scheduled for 7pm.
