Spitz vs. Cortez heavyweight fight added to Front Street Fights 9

Boise, ID (7/19/16)—Front Street Fights, presented by Bodybuilding.com, has announced an addition to the pro fight card for Front Street Fights 9, revealing on Thursday that Daniel Spitz  will battle Luis “The Hulk” Cortez in a heavyweight bout at CenturyLink Arena. Spitz looks to remain undefeated while Cortez fights for his second career victory on Front Street.

The 25 year-old Spitz (3-0) has earned all three of his professional victories in the past year, all via submission.  Spitz earned his last victory over Trandon Benson in March at Conquest of the Cage 22. The 6’7” Washington native will take to the cage in Boise for the first time as a professional, but not the first time in his fighting career. Spitz fought at Front Street Fights 5 on the amateur card, winning that fight via split-decision over Russell Koharchick.

Cortez (3-3) hopes to bounce back from a loss in his last fight at RFA 35, but returns to friendly territory. The 6’0” Utah fighter earned his most recent victory at CenturyLink Arena, where Cortez defeated Colton Vaughn at Front Street Fights 6 just 23 seconds into the first round via TKO. All three of the 29 year-old’s professional wins have come via TKO.

Spitz and Cortez join a fight card headlined by the Lightweight Championship fight between Scott “Tickle Fight” Thometz and David Castillo. The remainder of the fight card is as follows:
