Steelheads announce training-camp roster, schedule

Boise, ID (9/28/12) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced his initial training-camp roster on Friday, naming 21 players who will be in Boise on Monday when the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads open camp.

Before doing so, Ralph announced that the team has signed F Neil Graham and extended training-camp invitations to G Ryan Rondeau, F Eric Kroshus, D James Isaacs, and D Mike Switzer.

Here is the initial training-camp roster for the Idaho Steelheads:

Goaltenders – Ryan Zapolski, Ryan Rondeau
Defensemen – Deron Cousens, Patrick Cullity, Craig Gaudet, Scott Fletcher, Scott Todd, James Isaacs, Mike Switzer.
Forwards – Ben Ondrus, Justin Dowling, Ron Meyers, Mike Towns, Corey Tamblyn, Neil Graham, Taylor McReynolds, Jake Morley, David Grun, Andrew Wright, Austin Mayer, Eric Kroshus.

Forwards Andrew Carroll and Jacob Cepis, along with defenseman Matt Case, have been invited to American Hockey League training camp with the Texas Stars and will not be in Boise when Steelheads camp opens on Monday. Texas is Idaho’s AHL affiliate and the AHL is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America.

The Steelheads will practice each day leading up to Friday’s preseason game in Logan against the Utah Grizzlies. The practices on October 2 and 3 will be open to the public at CenturyLink Arena. The team then returns home to host the 3rd-annual Season-Ticket Holder Only game on Saturday, October 6, at CenturyLink Arena in Boise. Training camp resumes on Monday, October 8, in anticipation of the season-opener on October 12, also against the Utah Grizzlies.

The 16th season of professional hockey in Boise kicks off on Friday, October 12, when the Idaho Steelheads host the Utah Grizzlies at CenturyLink Arena.
