Jones set to defend Featherweight Title at Front Street Fights 17

Boise, ID (3/19/18)— Matt “The Stripling Warrior” Jones will step back inside the CenturyLink Arena cage for the ninth time in his professional career on May 4th to defend his Featherweight Title when he faces Drew “The Eternal Fire” Brokenshire in the Main Event at Front Street Fights 17: Brokenshire vs. Jones, presented by Bodybuilding.com.

The fight will be the first title defense in FSF history.

Jones (7-2-0) claimed the Featherweight belt at FSF14 on November 10th, winning in a unanimous decision over Fabio Serrao. The Boise fighter has won three consecutive bouts, all at Front Street Fights and two of them by unanimous decision. Jones has also won seven of his last eight fights, his lone defeat coming via unanimous decision against Josh Tyler in the Main Event at FSF8. This will be his third fight in the span of a year.

Brokenshire (16-8-0) suffered a defeat in the Main Event at Dominate FC in February, a unanimous decision to Chase Hooper in his first fight since December 2016. The Washington fighter has alternated wins and losses in his last six outings, but his resume does feature a six-fight winning streak from December 2012 to May 2014. This will be Brokenshire’s first appearance at CenturyLink Arena, with five of his last six fights either going the distance or being decided in the final round.

Additions to the professional and amateur fight cards will be announced in the coming weeks

Doors for Front Street Fights 17 will open at 6pm, with the first fight scheduled for 7pm. The event will be broadcast live on Cable One Channel 72 and streamed on the Front Street Fights YouTube page.
