Broncos, Vandals to meet in hoops at CenturyLink Arena

Boise, ID (11/9/12) – CenturyLink Arena will play host to one of Idaho’s biggest athletic rivalries on December 20 when the men’s basketball teams from Boise State and the University of Idaho meet in downtown Boise.

The Vandals have played two games in recent years at CenturyLink Arena, each in front of large crowds due to the large alumni base in the Treasure Valley.  This will be Boise State’s first game at the downtown venue, located less than two miles from the school’s campus.

Game time is yet to be determined, but tickets are on sale through the schools at this point.  Season Ticket Holders of the two programs have a right of first refusal to purchase tickets to the game.  That window expires on November 30, at which point single-game tickets will go on sale at the arena box office.  Capacity for the game is approximately 5,000.

The two teams have played 86 times on the basketball court, dating back to 1971, with Boise State leading the all time series, 51-35.

CenturyLink Arena is located in the heart of downtown Boise. It is home to the Idaho Steelheads and the Idaho Stampede. Seating 5,000 people CenturyLink Arena hosts many events every year. More than 350,000 fans attend over 100 events during 2012. For more event dates and tickets visit www.centurylinkarenaboise.com or call 331-TIXS
