BOISE, Idaho – An Idaho native and a Boise resident head into the cage when Leon “The Lion” Taylor takes on Stephen Stirewalt in a lightweight match on Friday, Apr. 19 at 7:00 p.m. in Front Street Fights 19: McIntyre vs. McKinney.
Taylor (2-2-0) makes his first appearance at a Front Street Fights event but second at CenturyLink Arena. The fighter out of Idaho made his professional debut at Bellator 205 in Spetember 2018, falling to Bryce Edminister by rear naked choke. The 5-foot-7 Taylor has since won two of his last three fights and makes his third appearance in the cage in the 2019 calendar year, taking down Weston Barnes in January by submission and falling to Brandon Pieper in February by punches.
Stirewalt (2-1-0) enters the cage for the second time at a Front Street Fights event and third in CenturyLink Arena. Most recently, the Boise, Idaho resident won at Bellator 205 over Joe Aguirre by submission and also opened his professional career with a win at Front Street Fights 17 over Lino Sanchez by unanimous decision. The 5-foot-8 Stirewalt also fought in three amateur bouts at Front Street Fights events and is 5-0-0 at CenturyLink Arena between his amateur and professional career.
The pair is the third addition to the fight card and lead up to the Main Event, when rising MMA stars Bobby McIntyre and Terrance “T. Wrecks” McKinney square off in the final fight of the night and a shot at a title fight.
